You're not only ranked against everyone at once. Alongside the overall board, riders are split into categories by gender and age so you can see how you're doing against people in your own group.
Open and category boards
There's an open board that includes every rider, plus separate standings split by gender and by age band. The same results feed all of them — they're just different ways of slicing the same leaderboard.
How your age category is set
Your age category is decided by your birth year measured against the event's start date — not your exact age on the day you happen to ride.
Here's a worked example. Say an event starts on 1 July 2020 and you were born on 2 September 1980. You'd still be 39 on the start date (you don't turn 40 until that September), but because the category is based on your birth year relative to the start date, you'd be placed in the 40+ group. That's why you can sometimes land in an older band than your age on the day suggests.
Filtering the leaderboard
You can narrow the board down to your own group — pick a gender and an age range to see just those riders. You can also choose whether to include or leave out e-bike entries.
What each row shows
A leaderboard row gives you the full picture for a rider: their place, their name and category, their total time, how many routes they've completed, and their score. The category comes from the birth-year rule above.
