Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before registering for any of the events featured on Twenty Peaks. Twenty Peaks is a platform for outdoor sports activities (such as cycling, running, or walking, and other activity types that may be added over time). Your participation and use of the Twenty Peaks platform are conditioned by your accepting and complying with these Terms. These Terms apply to all participants, visitors, users, and others who register for any of the events or use the information provided on our website twentypeaks.com. By registering for an event or using the website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not register or participate in any of the events.

These Terms are provided in English. Any translation that may be offered is for your convenience only; in case of any discrepancy, the English version prevails.

Definitions

In these Terms:

  • Platform — the Twenty Peaks website, applications, and related services.
  • Event — any challenge, race, or activity listed on the Platform that you can register for.
  • Meetup — the current type of Event that a Community can create on the Platform.
  • Community — a space created by a user or third party (an Organizer) on the Platform to host Events and publish Routes.
  • Organizer — a Participant or third party that creates and operates a Community to organize Events; an Organizer may be Twenty Peaks or a third party.
  • Route — a course on the Platform defined by an uploaded GPS track (such as a GPX file), with a surface type and a sport type, used by Events.
  • Participant (or you) — a registered user who takes part in an Event.
  • Finisher — a Participant who completes an Event's goal within its time period.
  • Club — a group of Participants who earn classification points together, as defined by an Event.

Note: a Club is a team you earn classification points with, whereas a Community is an Organizer's space for hosting Events and publishing Routes — these are different things.

Registering to Twenty Peaks

  • Age requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and register for any event on Twenty Peaks. If we learn that an account belongs to a person under 18, we may suspend or close it. Providing false information about your age is a breach of these Terms.
  • To register for any of the events featured on Twenty Peaks, you first have to create a free account. You will be asked to provide a valid email address and set up a password.
  • Connecting your activity tracking device: We track your activities and credit you for the routes and goals you complete on Twenty Peaks. We will ask your approval to connect your activity tracking device or third-party service to Twenty Peaks, and you authorize Twenty Peaks to import your activities from the connected source you choose, such as Garmin, Strava, Polar, or Wahoo (the list of supported services may change as new integrations are added). Each connection is granted per service and can be disconnected at any time. Importing your activity and location data from a connected service is also governed by that provider's terms and by our Privacy Policy.
  • Validating your email: Upon successful registration, you will receive a validation message to the address you’ve provided. Please follow the instructions in this message — for example, clicking a verification link or entering a verification code — to validate your email address. You will not receive registration confirmations, route completion confirmations, or any other official correspondence from Twenty Peaks unless you first validate your email address.

About events on Twenty Peaks

This section is informational and describes how events typically work; the binding terms are in the sections below.

Twenty Peaks hosts events for a range of outdoor sports activities. Each event defines its own goal, route or routes, completion criteria, and duration — which may range from a few hours to several months — as shown on the event's page. Events can be paid or free to participate, and some may be organized by a third party (Organizers, users, etc.) rather than by Twenty Peaks directly. See the Twenty Peaks website for the details of each event.

Example — the flagship Twenty Peaks challenge: in this seasonal cycling event you complete 20 climbs of varying difficulty within the event's season at your own pace. This is one example of an event on the platform; the specific rules of any event you join are shown on that event's page.

How does it work?

This section is informational and describes how events typically work; the binding terms are in the sections below.

  1. Sign up for an event on twentypeaks.com and connect your activity tracking device or service to Twenty Peaks.
  2. Receive your Twenty Peaks apparel if the event offers it and you choose this option during registration.
  3. Complete the goals and routes defined by the event once it goes live. Twenty Peaks will automatically pull your activities and mark the routes you have completed.
  4. Complete the event before its end date to become a Finisher. Depending on the event, Finishers may be eligible for rewards or finisher-only offers, as described on the event's page.
  5. If the event includes a personal classification, you can compete for classification points. The more qualifying routes you complete and the faster you complete them, the more classification points you may earn, as defined by the event.

Registration

Browse the available events and select the event you would like to participate in. Enter your personal information in the registration module. Depending on the event and the options you choose, this may include your phone number, gender, apparel size, and the address where you would like us to send any apparel. If you possess a coupon code, you may enter that as well.

Shipment and delivery

If you choose a registration option that includes apparel, shipping will be handled directly by our apparel and fulfilment partners. Your shipping details, including name, address, and phone number, will be shared with the relevant partner solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Payment

If you are registering for a paid event when all fields are complete, you can press the “proceed to checkout” button, and we will transfer you to the Credit card clearing page or PayPal to complete the purchase. Twenty Peaks does not process your payment credentials directly nor does it have access to them. By clicking the checkout button, you authorize us to transfer the payment request to a credit card clearance provider or PayPal, and you give your authorization to them to receive, process, and securely store your payment information in accordance with their own terms and applicable payment-security standards (such as PCI-DSS). The processing of your personal data in connection with payment is described in our Privacy Policy.

Prices and taxes. The price shown for a paid event on its registration page and at checkout is the total amount payable and includes any applicable taxes (such as VAT) unless stated otherwise. Applicable taxes are determined by the law of the relevant country and may therefore vary depending on where the event or participant is located. Any shipping costs for apparel are shown before you confirm payment.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel a paid event registration and receive a refund of the registration fee if you cancel within 14 days of registering and before the event has started. Once the event has started, or after the 14-day period has passed, the registration fee is non-refundable, unless required by applicable law or expressly offered by Twenty Peaks or the Organizer. Where a refund is due, we will refund it using the same payment method you used to register, without undue delay and in any event within 14 days, unless a different period is required by applicable law.

Apparel and other products are produced to order based on the options you select (such as size). Once production has begun, they are non-refundable and non-returnable, and exchanges or replacements are not possible, except where the item is defective, where required by law, or in rare cases explicitly approved by the manufacturer (which are not guaranteed). Your statutory rights in respect of faulty, damaged, or non-conforming goods are not affected by this section.

For events organized by third parties, cancellations and refunds may be handled by the Organizer. Nothing in this section affects any mandatory refund or cancellation rights you may have under the laws applicable to you.

Use of E-bikes

This section applies to cycling events. For cycling events that permit it, you may participate with an e-bike, but you have to declare it during registration by checking the designated checkbox. By doing so, you acknowledge that you will be automatically excluded from all classifications. The use of e-bikes without declaring it, as well as the use of any other means of motorized transportation not permitted by the event, is strictly forbidden and may cause disqualification of the person using them without reimbursement and at the sole discretion of the Organizers.

Following the event route

The routes provided for an event are binding, and you have to follow them strictly for successful accreditation of your activity on Twenty Peaks. Following a route accurately is required only for your activity to be accredited toward the event; it is not an obligation to complete the route. Your safety always takes priority over completion — if conditions are unsafe, or a route is blocked, impassable, or unlawful, you should deviate from or abandon it, even if this means your activity is not accredited. Stopping or deviating for genuine safety or legal reasons is never treated as a breach of these Terms.

Clubs

Every time you complete a qualifying activity, you earn classification points for your Club, as defined by the relevant Event. You have to be admitted to a Club by its administrator, and you are free to leave at any time. You can only be part of one Club at a time. There is no limit to the number of members for each Club.

Role of the platform and Organizer responsibility

Twenty Peaks is a technology platform and intermediary that enables Organizers to create, publish, and manage outdoor sports events, and enables users to discover and register for them. By registering for any event featured on Twenty Peaks, you expressly agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this document.

Some events are organized by third parties (Organizers, users, etc.) rather than by Twenty Peaks directly. Third-party Organizers act through a Community they create on the Platform (see “Creating and operating a Community” below). For such events, the Organizer is solely responsible for the event — including its content, accuracy, routes, safety, scheduling, conduct, cancellation, and fulfillment. Twenty Peaks is not the Organizer of third-party events and does not assume responsibility for them.

Nothing in this section limits Twenty Peaks' own responsibility for operating the platform and for handling your personal data, which remains subject to the limitation of liability set out below and to our Privacy Policy.

Creating and operating a Community (Organizers)

Any registered user who is at least 18 years old may create a Community on the Platform and act as an Organizer. Through a Community you can publish Routes (for example by uploading a GPX track and selecting its surface and sport type) and create Events — currently offered as Meetups. The user or users who own or administer a Community are responsible for it.

As an Organizer, you are solely responsible for your Community and everything it publishes — including its Routes, Events, descriptions, scheduling, accuracy, safety, participant communications, conduct, cancellation, and fulfillment. Twenty Peaks acts only as an intermediary and is not the Organizer of your Events.

Content and rights. You represent that you own or have all rights necessary to publish the Routes, GPS tracks, names, descriptions, images, and other content you upload to your Community, and that such content does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any law. You grant Twenty Peaks a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, display, and use that content as needed to operate and provide the Platform (see also Intellectual property).

Route safety and accuracy. You are responsible for the legality and reasonable safety of the Routes you publish. Twenty Peaks does not inspect, supervise, or guarantee Organizer Routes; Routes are auxiliary information that Participants must verify independently before use (see also Safety during activities and Assumption of risk and release).

Acceptable use. Organizers must comply with the Acceptable use and fair play section and must not publish unlawful, infringing, misleading, or unsafe content.

Participant data. If, as an Organizer, you receive participants' registration or activity data, you must use it only to operate your Event and must handle it lawfully and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Paid Events and Organizer fees. Events may be free or paid, as determined for each Event. Where you offer a paid Event: (a) the applicable fees, any revenue share, and payout terms are those agreed with Twenty Peaks and shown to you when you enable paid Events; (b) you are responsible for determining, collecting, declaring, and remitting any taxes (such as VAT) due in connection with your Events, unless we agree otherwise in writing; (c) payments for paid Events are processed through the Twenty Peaks platform, and Twenty Peaks acts as the merchant of record for those payments; and (d) you are responsible for holding any permits, authorizations, and insurance required for the activities you organize, and you represent that your Events comply with all applicable laws.

Our rights. Twenty Peaks may review, reject, suspend, or remove any Community, Route, or Event that violates these Terms or applicable law, and may suspend or terminate an Organizer's account (see Account suspension, termination and deletion). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify Twenty Peaks for claims arising from your Community, its Events, Routes, or content (see also Indemnification).

Safety during activities

Twenty Peaks events are not supervised, mass-start competitions. You choose when, where, and at what pace to perform each activity within the event's time period, on your own and at a time of your choosing. Activities take place on routes that are normally open to traffic and to the public, without road closures, marshals, on-site supervision, or medical or technical support provided by Twenty Peaks or the Organizers. You are solely responsible for your own safety — including obeying all applicable traffic laws and regulations, using appropriate equipment, and stopping if conditions are unsafe.

Events on Twenty Peaks and the routes included in them are designed for experienced participants in good physical shape and condition for the activity. Consult your physician before taking on any event. We and the Organizers do our best to choose a variety of routes with different difficulty levels and great scenery, but cannot guarantee they will not present hazards, blockage, or changed paths the day you choose to follow them. You are responsible for assessing your own fitness and the conditions before and during each activity, and for participating responsibly within your ability.

BY REGISTERING, YOU REPRESENT THAT YOU ARE IN GOOD HEALTH AND PHYSICALLY FIT TO TAKE PART, THAT YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF ANY MEDICAL CONDITION THAT WOULD MAKE PARTICIPATION UNSAFE, AND THAT YOU PARTICIPATE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Privacy and personal data

Your privacy matters to us. Our handling of your personal data — including the information you provide at registration, the activity and location data imported from connected services, and the data shared with apparel partners and payment providers — is described in our Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to read. Where we rely on your consent — for example, to connect a third-party activity service or to send you marketing messages — we ask for that consent separately, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including analytics and tag-management tools, to operate the platform and improve your experience. How we use them and how you can manage your preferences is described in our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, through the cookie banner and your browser settings.

Communications

Transactional messages — such as registration and email-validation messages, route-completion confirmations, and other official correspondence relating to your events — are part of the service and are sent to the email address you provide. Marketing or newsletter messages are sent only where you have consented, and you can unsubscribe from them at any time. Any phone number you provide is used only to fulfil and deliver your apparel order and for related order contact; we do not use it to send you marketing messages. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Intellectual property

The Twenty Peaks platform and its content — including the website, applications, text, graphics, logos, and the “Twenty Peaks” name and marks — are owned by or licensed to Twenty Peaks and are protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the platform for your personal, non-commercial participation in events. You may not copy, scrape, resell, or otherwise reuse the platform or its content without our prior written permission.

For content you submit to the platform (such as profile details, activity data, and club or leaderboard names), you grant Twenty Peaks a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, display, and use that content as needed to operate and provide the service. This license lasts only as long as needed to operate and provide the service: when you remove content or delete your account, the license ends, except for (a) copies kept in routine backups for a limited period, (b) content still required to operate Events or Routes that other Participants have already joined or used, and (c) copies others have already lawfully saved or shared. The handling of any personal data within such content is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use and fair play

To keep Twenty Peaks fair and safe for everyone, you agree not to:

  • falsify, alter, or manipulate GPS, activity, or result data, or otherwise misrepresent your efforts;
  • create or use more than one account, or register on behalf of someone else;
  • use motorized assistance or any means not permitted by the event (see also “Use of E-bikes”);
  • harass, abuse, or harm other users, including within Clubs and Community features;
  • use the platform for any unlawful purpose, or interfere with its operation, integrity, or security.

Breaching these rules may result in disqualification, loss of classification points, and suspension or termination of your account, at the sole discretion of Twenty Peaks or the relevant Organizer.

Reporting infringing or illegal content

Communities, Routes, Events and other content may be published by Organizers and other users. If you believe content on the platform infringes your rights, is unlawful, or otherwise violates these Terms, please notify us at info@twentypeaks.com with: (a) your contact details; (b) a description and the location (URL) of the content; (c) why you consider it infringing or unlawful; and (d), where you claim infringement of your own rights, a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized and that the information in your notice is accurate. We will review valid reports and may remove or disable access to the content. Where we remove or restrict content, we will inform the user who posted it of the reason for our action and give them an opportunity to respond; where a removal or restriction was unjustified, or following a justified counter-notice, we may reinstate the content. We may decline or delay action on incomplete, unfounded, or abusive reports.

Account suspension, termination and deletion

Twenty Peaks may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or applicable law, engage in fraud or cheating, or behave in a way that is unsafe or harmful to others or to the platform. You may stop using Twenty Peaks at any time and may delete your account directly from your account settings (or request deletion by email); how we handle your data on deletion, including a 90-day recovery window, is described in our Privacy Policy. On termination you lose access to your account and any associated classifications. Where termination results from your breach of these Terms, registration fees are non-refundable, subject to the “Cancellation and refunds” section above.

Assumption of risk and release

In short: outdoor sports involve real risks. You take part voluntarily and at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own safety. This section does not remove any rights you have that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.

  • As stated above, you must be at least 18 years old to participate; participation in any event is forbidden for minors under 18 years of age.
  • YOUR ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES CARRY INHERENT AND SIGNIFICANT RISKS OF PROPERTY DAMAGE AND BODILY INJURY. YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT, AND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW YOU VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL KNOWN AND UNKNOWN RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH THESE ACTIVITIES.
  • YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT TWENTY PEAKS DOES NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE INSPECTION, SUPERVISION AND PREPARATION OF ANY ROUTE. YOU FURTHER AGREE TO ASSUME ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH EFFORTS MADE BY YOU WITHIN ANY OF THE EVENTS PUBLISHED ON TWENTY PEAKS TO CLASSIFY ON ANY SINGLE ROUTE AND THE RELEVANT EVENT ENTIRELY.
  • TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AND SUBJECT TO THE “LIMITATION OF LIABILITY” SECTION BELOW, YOU AGREE TO RELEASE TWENTY PEAKS, ITS EMPLOYEES, AND ITS PARTNERS FROM LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES AND/OR USE OF THE TWENTY PEAKS WEBSITES, MOBILE APPLICATIONS, CONTENT, SERVICES OR PRODUCTS. THIS RELEASE DOES NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, OR FOR FRAUD.
  • Twenty Peaks is not a party to, and is not responsible for, interactions or disputes between participants. Any dispute you have with another participant is between you and that participant.
  • The events published on Twenty Peaks and the routes included in them are designed for experienced athletes in good physical shape and condition. Consult your physician before taking on any event.
  • We cannot guarantee that routes on Twenty Peaks will not present hazards, blockage, or change paths on the day you choose to follow them. The information presented on the website and applications is to be considered auxiliary information and participants should check it independently prior to engaging a certain route.
  • TO THE EXTENT ANY PART OF THIS SECTION IS BROADER THAN PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IT APPLIES ONLY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED, AND THE REMAINING PROVISIONS OF THESE TERMS REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.

Service availability and platform warranties

We work to keep Twenty Peaks running well, but the platform — including the website and applications, the import of activities from connected services (such as Garmin, Strava, Polar, or Wahoo), GPS and route matching, and the calculation of completions, classifications, and points — is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Twenty Peaks does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that activity or location data will always be imported, matched, or credited correctly or without delay, or that the platform will be free of defects, and disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Twenty Peaks' total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform or your participation in any event shall not exceed the amount you paid to Twenty Peaks for the relevant event (or, where you did not pay a fee for the relevant event, the greater of the fees you paid to Twenty Peaks in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and EUR 25). Twenty Peaks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Indemnification

If you are a consumer, you agree to indemnify Twenty Peaks and its employees and partners only for claims, damages, losses, and expenses that arise from your unlawful or willful misconduct or fraud in connection with your use of the platform or your participation in an event. This does not affect any rights or liabilities that apply under mandatory law.

If you act as an Organizer or otherwise use the platform for commercial or professional purposes, you agree, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, to indemnify and hold harmless Twenty Peaks and its employees and partners from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your Community, its Events, Routes, or content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the competent courts located in Israel shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Twenty Peaks.

If you are a consumer, you continue to benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you reside. Nothing in these Terms, including this section, deprives you of the protection of those mandatory provisions, and — where the law of your country of residence so allows — you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.

Changes to these Terms

Twenty Peaks may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above, and we will communicate material changes by reasonable means, such as a notice on the website or by email. Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the platform.

General

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any event-specific rules, constitute the entire agreement between you and Twenty Peaks regarding your use of the platform. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision. Twenty Peaks and the Organizers are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond their reasonable control — such as severe weather, natural events, war or civil unrest, road closures, strikes, outages, or acts of public authorities. Where an event is affected by such circumstances, it may be paused and resumed at a later time, or postponed, modified, or cancelled; where an event is paused and later resumed, your registration remains valid for the resumed event and the registration fee is not refunded on that basis.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. Twenty Peaks may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, provided your rights under these Terms are not materially reduced.

Survival. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including Intellectual property and the content licenses, the disclaimers, Service availability and platform warranties, Limitation of liability, Indemnification, and Governing law and jurisdiction — survive termination of these Terms or your account.

Notices. We may give you notices relating to these Terms by email to the address linked to your account or by posting them on the platform. You may send notices to us at info@twentypeaks.com or the postal address in “Service provider” below.

Contact and complaints

If you have a question or wish to raise a complaint about an event or your use of the platform, please contact us at info@twentypeaks.com. We will do our best to acknowledge and respond within a reasonable time. For events organized by third parties, we may refer your complaint to the relevant Organizer.
