Help CenterGetting Started › Race or fun?

You don't have to race on Twenty Peaks. Both competitive riders and people out for discovery are welcome, and you can change your approach at any time.

Two ways to take part

Some people are here to compete and chase the leaderboards. Others are here to explore new routes, improve their climbing, and complete the challenge at a relaxed pace. Both count the same way toward finishing — the difference is simply how much you focus on the rankings.

If you ride for fun

Discover new passes and routes, build your climbing over the season, and complete the challenge on your own schedule. There's no pressure to be fast; completing your routes is the goal.

If you want to compete

Selected routes in each event are marked as golden-frame ("KOM") routes, and there's a general classification that recognizes the strongest riders across the event. Results are split into categories so you're compared with similar riders. For how this is calculated, see the rankings section.
