Help CenterRankings, Scoring & Results › Event format: Fastest Time — your quickest route

On a Fastest Time event only your single quickest route counts. The event may offer several routes, but your standing rests on one ride: your fastest.

Is this your event?

You're on a Fastest Time event if the leaderboard ranks riders by a single route time with no score column, and riding more routes doesn't move you up. If your event adds up several routes, repeats one loop, or fixes the order of its stages, see Classic, Timed Loop or Stage Race.

What counts as a result

Whichever of your completed routes you rode quickest becomes your result. Everything else you ride is still recorded on your profile, but it doesn't affect your place.

Because only your own best counts, riding more routes can only ever help you — a slower ride can't drag your standing down.

What replaces a previous result

A new ride replaces your result only if it's faster. A slower attempt leaves your existing time untouched.

How the leaderboard is ordered

The Fastest Time leaderboard shows:

  • Time — your single fastest route. Note that this column reads Time here, not Total time: nothing is being added together.
  • Routes — how many of the event's routes you've completed.

Places are decided purely by that time, quickest first. There's no Score column on this format — route difficulty and points play no part in it, so a fast ride on an easy route beats a slow ride on a hard one.

If you haven't completed a qualifying route yet, your time cell is left empty rather than showing a zero.

Becoming a Finisher

You become a Finisher by completing at least the number of distinct routes the event requires. That number is set per event. Once you've earned it, it stays.

Worth knowing

There's no single official course to seek out. Your fastest route is picked from the routes you completed, so choosing a route that suits you is part of the format.
